Liverpool’s Winter Arts Market is a key date in any crafters diary. The fair at St. Georges Hall attracts over 200 artists and makers each year.
Pretty Nice went along to gaze at the beautiful stalls and bring you our favourite northern crafts and designs.
Amy Lawrence – Made in Ramsbottom, Lancashire
Amy Lawrence makes the most beautiful jewellery using her huge Italian knitting machine at her home in Lancashire.
Her geometric pieces take inspiration from traditional textiles and ancient decoration, using an array of techniques and cottons.
We love her individual necklaces and brooch designs, a perfect addition to jazz up any outfit.

Rheannon Ormond is another wonderfully talented Liverpudlian illustrator.
Her finely detailed pen and ink drawings have a lovely, nostalgic feel about them. The print below is inspired by the WW1 poem “Perhaps” by Vera Brittain.

Elizabeth Prince Ceramics – Made in Manchester
Elizabeth Prince’s beautiful ceramic designs are a must have for anyone seeking that extra special festive gift.
Her sweet decorations imprinted with vintage lace make lovely ornaments for your Christmas tree.
We also love Elizabeth’s little bird brooches – a lovely little stocking filler.

Lucy Illustrates – Made in Liverpool
Illustrator Lucy E Wilson was at the fair selling her bird themed prints and accessories. A first class graduate of Liverpool’s John Moores University, her drawings are gorgeously detailed, varying from portraits to everyday objects.
We espically like her 2015 illustrated calendar featuring endangered birds from around the globe. Lucy donates 50p per calendar to Birdlife International to aid in their conservation. You can buy it on Etsy here.
The Painted Chair – Made in Liverpool
Jan from The Painted Chair was at the fair to demonstrate how to up cycle old furniture. The only stockists of Annie Sloan chalk paint, the family run business specialises in breathing new life into home furnishings.
The amazing paint, which eliminates the need for sanding, is quite impressive stuff. You can buy it straight from The Painted Chair’s website here.
